Kaikaku sometimes used as a precursor to Kaizen activities. Kaizen is essential for a long-term → lean transformation. Kaizen means “change good” and by definition, must be an improvement over the current condition. Kaikaku means “transformation” or “reform” and implies a redesign of business processes that is radical and reaches across an entire organization. On a local scale, kaizen activity may result in a kaikaku if a drastic change is made. Most that know or have heard of kaizen think of it as a slow continuous improvement that is necessary to sustain a successful operation.

Kaikaku is also Japanese, although it's not yet as trendy as kaizen. It's rapid change--introducing Start with Kaikaku. I've worked with a lot Today’s word of the day: kaikaku.
